Invitation Letter

Dear Colleagues,
Turkish Ophthalmology Association Izmir Branch will be hosting the "Macula Diseases" themed 30th Summer Symposium on 22-24 September 2017 at Izmir Swiss Hotel Congress Centre, in memoriam of Ayhan Sökmen, MD.

Ayhan Sökmen, MD who passed away in December 2013, was a revered mentor, colleague and artist, who offered his services in Izmir for many years, vastly contributed to the founding of Ege University Turkish Music Conservatory and Izmir State Classical Turkish Music Chorus with his passion and efforts for the Turkish Classical Music, and helped educating young, aspiring artists. We remember him with the utmost respect.

Conferences, discussion panels, oral presentations and various social activities will be held throughout the symposium. Our colleagues who have extensive experience and knowledge, and most of whom are active members of Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal Surgery Units, will share with us the latest developments and their first-hand experience with "Macula Diseases".

Information regarding and the scientific program of the symposium are available on http://www.todnet.org/YazSempozyumu2017

I would like to offer my gratitude to Members of the Board of Directors of TOA Izmir Branch for their efforts in the organisation of the symposium and its scientific program, our colleagues and visitors who will attend the symposium and share their experience, our sponsors; and the managers and employees of Serenas taking part as the organizer of this event.

We are proud to be hosting a Summer Symposium in Izmir which is a gateway between our country and the rest of the world, and are looking forward to seeing you at the scientific and social events.

Kind regards.

Nazife Sefi Yurdakul, MD
TOA Izmir Branch Chairman
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Branch
