Evaluation of Papers
Authors submit an online abstract for the relevant symposium or course from the web information system published on TOA-Net.
- Abstract submission deadline is determined by the relevant scientific board. It must be at least 45 days before the start date of the symposium.
- The number of oral presentations to be presented in the symposium and courses is around 20 presentations in 120 minutes in two groups of 60 minutes. This period and the number of papers can be arranged by the scientific board in line with the content of the program.
- Authors can present their papers orally or as a poster on the specified topics. They indicate their preferences when submitting an online abstract.
- After the study entered into the system is sent to the scientific board by the author, the paper is collected by the chief referee until the deadline. When the deadline for submission is over, the chief referee sends the papers to the evaluation board according to their subject.
- The evaluation board consists of the head of the unit, the secretary, and the education representative for oral presentations, and for the posters, the evaluation board involves the chair of the branch or scientific board organizing the symposium or the course, the secretary, and accounting officer.
- Board members complete their evaluations within 5 days.
- All board members independently give points out of 100 to oral studies. The average score of the three board members becomes the final score of the study.
- A score of 70 and above is accepted for oral presentations.
- If the study for which the oral presentation is requested receives between 40-69 points, the chief referee turns the study into a poster and notifies the author of this result. The author may present his/her study as a poster or withdraw it within the specified period for updating.
- If it receives an average score below 40 points in oral presentations, it will be rejected.
- For posters, the local evaluation board makes an election as "accept or reject".
- All posters are prepared electronically.
- If the accepted oral presentations are more than the time and number of papers allocated in the scientific program, they are arranged according to the order of arrival of the study to the chief referee and placed in the program.
- The studies that were accepted but could not be placed in the program due to the schedule of the program are placed on the waiting list without undergoing a new evaluation process and may be presented in scheduled scientific symposiums and courses in line with the new request of the authors.
- In order to make an oral or poster presentation, the person presenting to the scientific program must be registered. If there is no registration, the right to present is taken away and removed from the program. It is replaced by another study on the waiting list.
- The presentation should be made by the first author of the study. It is not ethical to make a name change after the study has gone to referee evaluation.
- Actions are taken against authors who do not make presentations without an excuse, in line with the relevant TOA VQA rules.
