“Türk Oftalmoloji Derneği (TOD), Kornea ve Oküler Yüzey Birimi Yürütme Kurulu olarak “Temel Keratoplasti Beceri Aktarım Laboratuvarı” kursunu 19 Ekim 2025 tarihinde İstanbul TODEM’de gerçekleştireceğiz.
Bu başlıkta Beceri Aktarım Laboratuvarı (BAL) adıyla pratik işlemlerin öğretileceği wetlab uygulamalarında önceliği birimimizin en önemli ve temel cerrahisi olan keratoplastiye ayırdık ve eğitim konumuzu “TOD Kornea ve Oküler Yüzey BAL: Temel Keratoplasti” şeklinde belirledik.
Penetran keratoplastide fonksiyonel başarıyı artıracak sütür teknikleri ve ameliyat sonrası hasta takibi oldukça önemlidir. Ülkemizde göz bankacılığı ile ilgili son yıllardaki gelişmeler hem donör doku teminini artırmayı, hem de ameliyat sonrası hastaların merkezi sitemden takibini sağlamaktadır. Bu sebepten keratoplasti daha fazla cerrahın aşina olması gereken bir cerrahi haline gelmiştir. Bu programı planlarken özellikle asistanlık eğitimi süresince keratoplasti teknik ve inceliklerine yeterince hakim olamadığımız düşüncesi ile işin tekniği üzerinde durmayı tercih ettik. Bu amaçla trepan, punch gibi enstrümanları tanımanızı, kullanım inceliklerini öğrenmenizi, sütürasyonda farklı teknikleri görüp, cerrahi tekniklerin ayrıntılarını ve farklı olgularda nasıl yönetebileceğinizi öğrenmenizi amaçlıyoruz. Pratik uygulama kısmında da çok tecrübeli eğitmenlerimizle bire bir öğrendiklerinizi uygulama fırsatı bulacaksınız.
Sabah teorik ders anlatımı sonrasında katılımcılar 4 ayrı gruba ayrılacak ve eğitmenlerimizin gözetimi altında altı kişilik gruplar halinde pratik yapma şansını bulacaklardır.

Dear Colleagues,
“As the Executive Board of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association (TOA), Cornea and Ocular Surface Unit (COS), we will a BAL meeting on October 19, 2025, in Istanbul TODEM.
At this meeting, we determined our training subject as "Basic Keratoplasty", the most important and basic surgery of our unit, in the wet lab applications where practical procedures will be taught under the name of Skill Transfer Laboratory.
In penetrating keratoplasty suturing techniques that will increase functional success and postoperative patient follow-up are very important. Recent developments in eye banking in our country enable both donor tissue supply to be increased and postoperative follow-up of patients from a central system. For this reason, keratoplasty has become a surgery that more surgeons should be familiar with.
While planning this program, we preferred to focus on the technique details, considering that we were not able to master the techniques and intricacies of keratoplasty sufficiently, especially during the residency training. For this purpose, we aim to familiarize you with instruments such as trephine and punch, learn the details of their use, see different techniques in suturation, learn the details of surgical techniques and how to manage them in different cases. In the practical application part, you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned one-on-one with our very experienced instructors.
After the theoretical lecture in the morning, the participants will be divided into 4 separate groups and will have the chance to practice in groups of six under the supervision of our instructors.
