Rules for Transmission of Abstract Submission

Rules for abstract submission has been arranged in accordance with Article 4 – 5 – 6 of International Congress and Organization Committee (UKUK) Directives.
In the event that the proceeding holder physician is Turkish Citizen, it is necessary that he/she is a member of TOD and that he/she has no current or previous debt to Association.
(For physicians who are member of other fields and for foreign physicians – even if they are ophthalmologists - condition of being member of TOD is not required).
Abstracts shall only be submitted through web site.

As the first name, a person can transmit study abstract in form of “An oral presentation + An poster“ or “Two Posters”. Any application contradictory to it shall be automatically rejected by proceeding acceptance site. Case presentations for single fact can only be sent as poster. Duration for oral presentation shall be 5 minutes including video presentation.

Posters shall be presented as e-posters and shall be prepared on online system. Furthermore, it is necessary to be prepared on a program such as Microsoft- Powerpoint, etc..

To Submit Abstracts Through Web Site

Abstract submissions shall be transmitted through link on web site (www.todnet.org) of congress. E-mail, written form, fax, disc and other methods of applications shall not be accepted.
Only first authors have the authority to submit abstracts. It is necessary that proceeding holder should acknowledge their TOD Identity No and Web password.

Our member can access to this information through www.todnet.org by filling the respective form in Member Data Bank or through directly applying to webmaster@todnet.org.

The same rules apply for abstract owners who are not member of TOD. A temporary Identity No and Password shall be given to these people to be valid only duration of congress. It is necessary they fill membership form on congress web site (www.todnet.org). The ones who undertakes to fill in the form in the name of others are to acknowledge TOD Identity No and Web passwords of these people.

On abstracts, first name authors have right of “1 oral presentation + 1 poster” or totally “2 posters“ presentations. Rules for submitting abstract are available on respective web site. Please read these rules very carefully to prevent any faults and particularly pay attention to below rules:

  • Please fill in name and surname of authors as per their order on study.
  • Carry out subject classification carefully.
  • Fill in the summary in accordance with structure of summer. Abstract texts should compose of, “Objective”, “Instrument and Method”, “Results” and “Discussion” parts.
  • Abstract texts should be written through a clear, open and clear language. Ensure that there is no expression mistake or misspelling.
  • After each abstract submission or modification, re-enter your summary to Preview area and ensure that it exists as you need on database.
  • Keep confirmation messages you will get to your e-mail address after abstract submission.
  • Posters shall be presented as e-poster and be prepared on AbstractAgent system.
  • Summary text should be between 1000-2000 characters excluding summary article.
Assessment of Information
Abstract submission shall be made through online system to Assessment Commission members consisting of three people as Head of Respective Department(s), Department Secretary and Training Representative of Department, unrevealing “author names” and “place of study”. Assessment commissions shall take care to carry out their oral proceeding and poster assessments in accordance with the numbers to be communicated to them.

Members of Assessment Commission shall state their decisions through marking the form they access on virtual platform. Abstracts shall be evaluated as “accept-refuse“ and “oral-poster-video-medical photograph“. Assessment commissions have the authority to change presentation preference. First names are label to present oral proceedings as per preference of commission.

As single fact case presentation (except notifications requiring characteristic video presentations) shall be accepted only in poster form, it shall not be permitted to change into oral presentation. Respective commission reserves its right to ask for addition proof from authors in case it has doubt that the study is not original or for the purpose revealing information that raise doubts.
