Dear Colleagues,
We had organized the first of ‘Live Surgery Days’’ last year. We had organized Joint Live Surgery operations for the units anticipating that it will make a significant contribution for our colleagues in terms of saving on time when live or video surgery activities, organized on different dates by Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Cornea and Ocular Surface, Diplopia and Oculoplastic Surgery units, are organized together; that our colleagues will have the opportunity to see the surgical operations of more than one unit within the same symposium, that it will be more efficient in terms of time and finance if the sponsor companies take part in the joint symposium rather than attending individual symposiums, and that participation would reach higher numbers thereupon. Indeed this organization, so to speak, turned into a Live Surgery Symposium and even in the first activity more than eight hundred colleagues took part in.
TOD Live Surgery Days is on the way to be a meeting of TOD for which substantial participation will be achieved for the second time quickly following the National Congress. On account of the fact that our departments performed joint action, the attraction for Live Surgery Symposium increased, the number of participants which has dropped recently in these symposiums were over the long-awaited numbers even in the first organization.
We were deeply satisfied with this interest and this year we extended this organization over a long time period so as to be two full and one half day by extending the same for one more day. Enriching live and video surgery operations with up to date panels, we endeavored to make the symposium have a more satisfying format.
TOD 2nd Live Surgery Symposium will be held in Pulman Istanbul Hotel and Congress Center between June 28 – July 1, 2018 and live surgery operations will be performed in the Surgery Room of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Department of Eye Diseases.
President and Executive Boards of Participative Units pull out all the stops in a great conformity and under the coordination of Organization Committee so that Symposium would be successful in all aspects. I would like to take this occasion to thank them warmly. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks on behalf of you to the lecturers and other employees and in particular to Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Department of Eye Diseases, which allocated their hospital for live surgery operations of this organization.
This joint Live Surgery Symposium also became the focal point of industrial companies. Thanks in advance to the participant companies to enliven the symposium thanks to several sponsorships.
Hoping to be together in this spectacular symposium, which became more meaningful thanks to 90th honorary anniversary of our association, I invite all of our members to TOD 2nd Liver Surgery Days on behalf of organization committee and Central Executive Board.
