General Information
Please note that the first author of the abstract must be a TOA member in order to submit an abstract. Authors may login to the abstract submission system on the symposium website using their TOA member number and password. International authors who are not a member of TOA should create an account as ‘New User’. Only the first author is authorized to submit and edit abstracts.
Abstract Submission Rules
- Abstracts should be submitted via the system on symposium website (www.todnet.org) to be considered for evaluation. Those sent by e-mail, fax, and other methods will not be accepted.
- Each applicant may submit a maxiumum of 2 abstracts as first author. Only one of them might be a free paper. Case reports can only be sent as posters.
- Abstracts are limited to minimum 1000 and maximum 2000 characters and must be in Turkish or English language.
- Authors should carefully follow the instructions in the abstract submission system and fill the author information according to the order in the study. This information will be used for contact.
- Each abstract should include ‘Introduction and Purpose’, ‘Methods’(not mandatory for case reports) , ‘Results’ and ‘Discussion and Conclusion’ sections.
- The text should be clear and easy to understand.
- Please refrain from mentioning the name of your clinic to allow objective evaluation by the reviewer.
- Any change in the order of authors is not allowed after submission deadline.
Review & Presentation Procedure
- After you complete the abstract submission you will receive a confirmation email. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the reviewer committee of TOA anonymously and final decision is made according to their average score of 3 reviewers over 100 points. Abstracts with a minimum mean score of 70 will be accepted as free paper and those with a mean score between 20- 70 will be accepted as poster. An abstract with a mean score under 20 will be rejected.
- The decision related to presentation format (free paper or poster) will be sent to you by email within 2 weeks after abstract submission deadline. Further information about free paper presentation session will be announced in the scientific program on website.
- The duration of free paper presentation is limited to 5 minutes. Free papers should be presented by the first author. In case of an excuse, the free paper might be postponed to another meeting of TOA according to the requirement of the first author. To withdraw an abstract from the meeting or inform an excuse for presentation an email should be sent to bildiri@todnet.org.
- Accepted posters will be presented as e-posters. The details and deadline for poster upload will be sent to the contact email.
- Please note that the first author should have completed the meeting registration by May 17 in order for the abstract to be accepted as part of the scientific program. Any papers and posters that are not presented even if the first author has registered, will not be included in the meeting abstract book and will be evaluated according to the rules mentioned in the meeting directives of TOA.
