Prof. Dr. Huban Atilla

Dear Colleagues,

The 59th National Congress of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOA) will be held from November 19th to 23rd, 2025, at the Rixos Sungate Hotel and Convention Center in Antalya.

On behalf of the Executive Board of the TOA and the National Congress Organizing Committee(NCOC) , I am honored and delighted to invite you to this significant gathering.

Our National Congress is the most important scientific meeting we organize annually to share, discuss, and enhance our professional knowledge regarding the latest developments, scientific research, and clinical practices in ophthalmology. As you know, the TOA is the only organization in Turkey that unites ophthalmology specialists and supports scientific advancements in the field. In addition to our annual courses and symposia throughout the year, especially our national congress being the most significant and comprehensive of our activities. Our aim is to contribute not only to the development of ophthalmological knowledge but also to strengthen the  bonds between our colleagues through social interaction.

The scientific program of our congress which will include panels, discussions, interactive sessions, and courses, has been carefully prepared over the course of a year through intensive teamwork, with contributions from all our subcommittees and units. Featuring both national and international experts in the field, this congress will be an exceptional opportunity to stay up to date with innovations in ophthalmology, exchange knowledge with colleagues, and connect in a scientific environment. As in previous years, many internationally renowned speakers will join us to share their experiences and insights, which will be inspiring to all participants.

To enhance the congress's international scope and encourage participation from abroad, we are planning to offer translation services in more sessions this year. Moreover, international scientists and leaders of ophthalmological associations invited upon the recommendations of our educational units, will enrich the scientific program with their knowledge and experience.

Continuing the principles of “Sustainable Ophthalmology,” we will again work toward minimizing paper usage, reducing environmental impact, and limiting waste production, just as we did last year. In line with our commitment to social responsibility, we are once again having our congress bags produced in the earthquake-affected region, supporting the local economy there.

In addition to the scientific program, our congress will also be enriched with social events. Based on popular demand, TOD-GO, the band formed by our young colleagues who gave their debut performance last year, will return to perform once again. After 2 years of interval we will have our choir this year again and for the other surprises in the social programme please follow our website.

The “Photier” photo-sharing app, which was introduced last year and highly appreciated by participants, will again be available. We will also introduce some surprises like new social media applications that we believe you will enjoy.

As in previous years, our congress will commence with the now-traditional Advanced Science Education Programs (BİLEP) on the first day. Based on the feedback we receive after each congress, we continuously update the scientific program. This year’s program will include panels, courses, round-table meetings, interactive discussions, and video sessions prepared by our subspecialty committees. There will also be oral and poster presentations, international sessions for young ophthalmologists, and industry-sponsored satellite meetings. Pharmaceutical and medical industry representatives will showcase the latest technological and medical developments at their booths and through satellite meetings and stand presentations. Simulator training sessions will continue to support the development of our young colleagues.

On behalf of the Executive Board of the TOA and NCOC, I would like to thank all the Organizing Commitee members who worked as an excellent team in preparing this year’s congress, our Educational and Research Units who significantly contributed to the scientific program, the distinguished speakers who honored us by accepting our invitation, our sponsors and industry partners who supported the event, our colleagues who will contribute with their participation and enrich the congress, and the employees of the Global Congress and Organization working devotedly for a smooth running congress.

We warmly invite you to join us at the 59th National Congress of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association, and we extend our heartfelt love and respect.on behalf of the TOA Executive Board and the NCOC.

Prof. Dr. Ali Bülent Çankaya

Dear Colleagues,

It is my honor and pleasure to invite you to the 59th National Congress of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOA), which will be organized with the contributions of the TOA Ankara Branch. Our congress will take place from November 19-23, 2025, at the Antalya Rixos Sungate Hotel and Convention Center, the same venue that hosted our previous National Congress.

The TOA Ankara Branch, which has the privilege of organizing this year's National Congress, has made significant contributions to both Turkish and global ophthalmology through its many esteemed ophthalmologists. This has established Ankara ophthalmology as a distinguished school of thought. With this awareness and the responsibility of being in the capital of our country, the city where our Republic was founded, we are working tirelessly to ensure that our National Congress reaches the highest scientific level.

As is well known, ophthalmology is one of the fastest-evolving fields of medicine. Our National Congress, the most significant event of the Turkish ophthalmology community, plays a crucial role in keeping up with these advancements. Throughout the congress, the sessions we attend, the conversations we share with colleagues during breaks, and the discussions we engage in provide us with valuable insights and knowledge that benefit both our clinical practice and our patients. Additionally, oral presentations and poster sessions enable us to stay updated on the latest developments in ophthalmology. As a result, we return to our workplaces equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment methods. Furthermore, our National Congress presents a wonderful opportunity to reunite with our mentors, students, colleagues, and friends, strengthening our professional and personal bonds.

As in previous years, this year's congress will feature the latest advancements and innovations across all ophthalmology subfields. These will be delivered to you, our esteemed colleagues, through panels, courses, conferences, and interactive sessions, led by both national and international experts. To achieve this, the National Congress Organization Committee (NCOC) has been dedicated to preparing a rich and comprehensive scientific program, holding numerous meetings since the conclusion of the previous congress. I would like to extend my gratitude in advance to the TOA Central Executive Board (MYK), the UKOK members, the subspecialty executive boards, and all the distinguished scientists who will generously share their knowledge and expertise. Additionally, I would like to express my appreciation to the ophthalmology industry firms and our event partner, Global, for their invaluable contributions to organizing such a significant event.

Looking forward to meeting you all at the 59th National Congress of TOA, which I believe will be a pivotal moment in the professional development of every participant.

With my best regards and respect,
